However, just as suddenly as it opened, it closed again, and the elevator began to move, feeling as though it was moving forwards. I returned to my investigation and had soon torn off all of the fabric, revealing walls that were made of wood and rusted metal. This was a bit weird, so I looked for an indicator that we were getting closer to a destination, when I heard two short dings.

Suddenly, the elevator stopped, the door opened, and the momentum caused me to fly out of the elevator and hit the ground, which was the weird gray from earlier. Looking back, I saw only a door, just like I had entered, and as I watched it, it turned horizontally and slid away from me at an incredible speed.

I stood up, looked around, and noticed a lamp illuminating the weird grayness. the only thing it managed to do was cast a weird shine on the gray "ground", but next to it I noticed a sign that looked like that of a bus stop. I walked up to it and stood for a few minutes, to see if a bus would arrive. It did, and I stepped on, noticing the driver was tall, thin, and very pale. He wore a chauffeur's hat, and a fancy coat that made him look like a chauffeur, but at the same time, he had on a pair of ragged blue jeans and was wearing a scruffy beard.

"Take a seat," he said, in a low and slightly bored voice. I took one near the front and noticed many people on the bus. Most were staring out a window or straight ahead. Many were elderly, though I noticed a few young ones.

"Excuse me sir," I asked the bus driver, "but where does this bus go?"

"Limbo," he replied solemnly.

"Oh, but I'm not dead," I pointed out.

"Not dead?," he repeated, raising an eyebrow.

"That's right, I'm alive, and have been my whole life."

"Hm, step up here for a moment." I walked up, and he picked up a small device, pointed at me, and a laser sprang out, scanning my face, then extinguishing itself. He never moved his eyes from the "road".

A series of small musical tones sounded. "Curious," he began, "it seems that you're alive, and listed as such in the directory, however, you're on this bus."

"Yeah, ever since I came out of that circular forest it's been weird."

"Do you mean Limbo?"

"I guess, if by Limbo you mean the endless circular path." He was so baffled he actually looked me in the face, so much that I noticed for the first time his eyes were pure black, and the dim lights of the bus didn't reflect in them even slightly.

"That explains a lot then. You're officially the first person to escape Limbo."

"Wow. That's kind of cool I guess, but how do I get home?"

"That's something I don't even know. You'd have to talk with the management about that. I'm just the transporter."

"How do I do that?"

"Well, normally, you'd have to die, but since you're not dead, you're going to have to try something different."

"Like what?"

"Well, to get there, you have to be in a coffin, and I happen to keep one stocked in the back for just such occasions."

"How many times have you had someone end up here that wasn't dead?"

"You're the first, but I figure it's always good to be prepared."

"So what do I do?"

"Go to the back, step into the coffin, and close the lid. Then, wait. That's it."

"Well, thanks sir, I really appreciate it."

"No problem. Now, run along," he said, pulling a lever that caused the bus to jolt forward very quickly. I hurried to the back and stepped in the coffin, then closed the lid and waited.
